Independent Aquatic Imports
Independent Aquatic Imports has supplied ornamental fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants to the UK wholesale trade since 1999. Their ageing WordPress site was slow, hard to maintain and being repeatedly hacked. We migrated them to a fast, secure Next.js platform where approved trade customers log in to see live stock lists direct from the importer.

Website
Visit siteIndependent Aquatic Imports is a trade-only importer of ornamental fish, invertebrates and aquatic plants, supplying wholesalers and consolidated importers across the UK from their base near Heathrow since 1999. Their old WordPress site had become a liability: outdated, slow, and compromised so often that fixing hacks had become routine maintenance.
We rebuilt the site from scratch in Next.js and migrated them off WordPress entirely, removing the attack surface that kept getting exploited. The new platform pairs a clean public site with a super fast backend and a gated trade area: wholesalers request access, get approved, and log in to browse stock lists straight from the importer instead of waiting on emailed spreadsheets.
The result is live at aquaticimports.com: quick to load, secure by architecture rather than by patching, and built around how the trade actually buys. The public site tells the story to prospective stockists; the login does the daily work.
